Relatable Story
Sofia’s Special Day at the Park
One sunny day, Sofia decided to go to the park with her favourite toy, a little blue bird named Azul. As they played on the swings, Sofia noticed a girl sitting alone on a bench, looking sad. Remembering the lessons from the magical Quran about kindness and compassion, Sofia approached the girl.
“Hi, I’m Sofia! Would you like to play with me and Azul?” she asked with a big smile.
The girl looked up, her eyes brightening a little. “I’m Aisha,” she replied. “I just moved here, and I don’t know anyone.”
Sofia remembered how the Quran spoke about the importance of friendship and being there for others. “Well, now you know me! And Azul too!” she giggled, holding up her toy bird.
The two girls played together for hours, laughing and sharing stories. Sofia even taught Aisha a little rhyme from her magical Quran book about the beauty of friendship.
As the sun began to set, Aisha’s mother came to pick her up. “Thank you, Sofia,” Aisha whispered, hugging her new friend. “You made me feel so welcome.”
That night, as Sofia lay in bed, she thought about her day. She realized that the lessons from the magical Quran weren’t just stories; they were guides for real life. By reaching out to Aisha, she had turned a lonely day at the park into a special memory for both of them.
And as she drifted off to sleep, clutching Azul close, Sofia felt grateful for the magical Quran and the beautiful lessons it taught her. She knew that with its guidance, she could make every day a little brighter for herself and those around her.
Questions Children Ask?
Q1 Why is the Quran magical?
A1: The Quran is described as “magical” in the story to help young readers understand its special and unique qualities. Just like how some storybooks take children on magical adventures, the Quran offers wisdom, guidance, and lessons that can transform our lives in wonderful ways.
Q2 Does the Quran really glow?
A2: In our story, the Quran glows to show its significance and importance. In real life, the Quran might not glow with visible light, but many believe it “glows” in a spiritual sense by illuminating our hearts and minds with knowledge and guidance.
Q3 Why did you share the stories with you toys?
A3: You shared the stories with your toys to show that the lessons of the Quran are for everyone. It’s a playful way to demonstrate that its teachings can be shared with friends, family, and even our favourite toys!
Q4: Can I have a magical Quran like in the story?
A4: Every Quran is special and magical in its own way because of the wisdom and lessons it contains. While your Quran might not glow or float like in the story, reading and understanding its messages can bring magic to your life by helping you be kinder, more understanding, and more connected to your faith.
Q5: Why did the Quran teach me about kindness and nature?
A5: The Quran contains many lessons about being kind to others and appreciating the beauty of the world around us. In our story, these lessons are highlighted to show children how the Quran encourages us to be our best selves and to be grateful for the wonderful world we live in.
Interactive Activity
“Storybook Craft”
Objective:
To engage the child in a hands-on activity that allows them to explore the book’s message further, reinforce the importance of the Quran, and encourage creativity and storytelling.
Materials:
Blank paper (preferably A4 size)
Coloured pencils, crayons, or markers
Stickers or stamps (optional)
Glue
Scissors
Old magazines or printed pictures (optional)
A small cardboard box or a shoebox
Decorative items like sequins, buttons, ribbons, etc.
Instructions:
Create Your Own Storybook:
Give the child several sheets of blank paper.
Ask them to recall their favourite part of “The Magical Quran” and draw a picture of it.
Encourage them to draw other pictures inspired by the book. For instance, they can draw themselves reading the Quran, the glowing tree, or any other scene they loved.
On the back of each drawing, help them write a short sentence about the picture. For younger children, parents can write down what the child narrates.
Decorate a Storybox:
Provide the child with a small cardboard box or shoebox.
Ask them to decorate the box using coloured pencils, crayons, stickers, and other decorative items. This box represents the “magical Quran” from the story.
On the inside lid of the box, they can stick a picture of a Quran or draw one.
Story Retelling:
Once the drawings are complete, ask the child to place them inside the decorated box.
At Storytime, the child can open their “magical Quran” box and use their drawings to retell the story of “Sofia and the Magical Quran” or create new adventures for Sofia using their illustrations.
Discussion:
After the activity, sit with the child and discuss the importance of the Quran, just like the book emphasized. Ask questions like, “Why do you think the Quran was glowing in your story?” or “How did you feel when you read the Quran?”
